Spokane Falls Community College to Host Event for Students to Meet Top Colleges and Universities

American Honors Program brings admissions officials to campus to discuss transfer opportunities with Spokane students

WASHINGTON, DC, October 29, 2014 – Tomorrow, Spokane Falls Community College in Spokane, Wa. will host the American Honors College Transfer Fair, where current American Honors students will have their first chance to meet with representatives from top four-year universities and colleges to explore the opportunity to transfer seamlessly and complete their bachelor’s degree.

The American Honors program at Community Colleges of Spokane enables Spokane students to save as much as 30 to 40% in tuition by completing their associate degree at a community college, provides personalized transfer advice so they don’t lose college credits and a more clear, less expensive path to top four-year colleges and universities.

Tomorrow, 16 universities and colleges from the American Honors Transfer Network will participate in the Open House, and will meet one-on-one with American Honors students. The schools attending the event include Baldwin Wallace University, Claremont McKenna College, George Mason University, Gonzaga University, Illinois Institute of Technology, Middlebury College, Pacific Lutheran University, Royal Roads University, Seattle University, Shimer College, Swarthmore College, University of Arizona, University of Puget Sound, Wabash College, Washington State University – Tri Cities, and Whitworth University.

“At Gonzaga University, we’re dedicated to cultivating in our graduates a commitment to leadership and service. Being a part of the American Honors Transfer Network provides a new opportunity to connect with highly talented students who share that vision,” said Joan Sarles, Assistant Dean of Admission at Gonzaga University. “The American Honors students who have transferred to Gonzaga are making great contributions to our learning community, and we look forward to meeting prospective students this week.”

“We look forward to meeting students this week, as we know the American Honors program attracts a diverse group of highly motivated students who are great candidates for admission at University of Puget Sound,” said Martha Wilson, Associate Director of Admission at University of Puget Sound. “We are pleased to be part of the American Honors National Transfer Network, as it reflects our commitment to providing an affordable education to well-qualified students who might not otherwise have a chance to pursue a top degree.”
