This is a temporary PART-TIME position (20 hours weekly), starting immediately through May 31, 2017, with the possibility of the position being extended. Full time opportunities may be available in Fall of 2017.
The Deputy Regional Admissions Counselor is part of QL’s Marketing & Recruitment team and responsible for supporting the design and execution of logistics for the student recruitment plan to meet enrollment targets for the American Honors program. Serving as a main point-of-contact for prospective students and community stakeholders, the Deputy Regional Admissions Counselor supports the Regional Admissions Counselor in efforts with local high schools, community groups, and students and faculty at the community college to recruit new students to the American Honors program at our partner campus in Seattle, Washington (Shoreline Community College).
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Create and develop new ways to build the American Honors brand in the community
Maintain relationships with local stakeholders (guidance counselors, coaches, church leaders, community groups)
Support Regional Admissions Counselor in strategizing yearly recruitment calendar: schedule and conduct visits to area high schools to deliver materials and meet with prospective students
Host informational events & deliver "field pitch" that is tailored to the audience
Report feedback and data points to marketing team in routine reports offering insight from the ground to help inform and evolve future strategy
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
2+ year of work with college students or college-bound students, particularly youth/families of various backgrounds—experience in student recruitment a plus
Understanding of local community dynamics and demographics
Experience with K-12 or higher ed institutions
Interest in sales and marketing
Strong communication skills: writing and public speaking
Commitment to reflecting on practices to make improvements to work
Willingness to work flexible hours (some evenings, weekends) during the Fall & Spring recruitment cycle
Ability to work as a regional employee, communicating with a team remotely
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Salesforce experience a plus

Education and Experience: Bachelor’s Degree required. 2-3 years of business experience preferred, preferably in strategy, marketing, sales, channel management or related fields.
Language Skills: This position requires the ability to read, write, analyze and interpret complex instructions, correspondence, legal documents, financial reports and/or technical documents. This position also requires the ability to respond effectively to clients, employees and management and handle sensitive and/or confidential communications. This position requires a high level of skill in both oral and written communication and the ability to effectively present ideas and information.
Technical Skills: Advanced computer skills including MS Powerpoint and MS Excel required.
Mathematical Skills: The position requires the ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide and interpret complex numbers, financial data and reports. This position requires the ability to apply such concepts to create reports and financial records and present them effectively.
Travel: 50%-60% day trip travel covering central/north King County and south Snohomish County.
